People Are Sharing The Best Score They've Gotten While Thrifting, And Some Of Them Have Found Real Treasures

Apparently Goodwill is filled with designer shoes.

Recently, I asked the BuzzFeed Community members to tell us the best find they've ever gotten while shopping at a thrift store, garage sale, or Facebook Marketplace. Well, turns out people have really, really scored some treasures.

So, without further ado, here are the unbelievably amazing things people gotten second-hand:

    1.

"I live in Florida. Five years ago I went to Goodwill to buy a winter coat because I was going to Canada to visit family in the middle of winter for the first time ever. I tried on this simple coat that was very warm. I bought it for $12.

Long story short, I found $10K sewn inside the coat. I was so shocked and honestly afraid. I went to the police because I had no idea whose money it was. They said since it was found in a donated item they can try to locate the original owner, but if not, I can claim it since I have proof that I purchased the coat. Owners were never located so I became $10K richer.

I tell this story all the time to people. You never know. You can become 'thousandaire' just from thrifting."

"Got it for $80 on Facebook Marketplace. Always wanted to have one of these Queen Anne-style tall boy dressers since watching The Exorcist (the girl in the movie has a similar looking one in her bedroom) — so when I saw it on FB Marketplace I was like, 'Get out of my dreams and into my life!' 😍. These ones typically sell from $590 to over $1,000!!! —e41f520302

"Not from a store or thrift shop or anything, but I saw a STUNNING wood box/chest on the sidewalk with a 'FREE' sign taped on it. I swung around but couldn’t find anywhere to quickly park on this little city side-street, so I did a loop but still no luck. I saw a couple standing by it but they had walked to the corner about 20 feet away, so I quickly double parked, hopped out, grabbed it and threw it in my passenger seat. I was ecstatic!

Later on, after cleaning it a bit and doing research, I'm 99% sure this beautiful, perfect-condition wood trunk is from the 1890s and was used for traveling. (There’s even train stickers on the bottom with later dates and info!) I cannot fathom how someone would leave this outside for free, but I thank my lucky stars for them and for keeping such great care of this antique."
