31 Products Under $20 That Mean Business

If you've got a $20 bill, we've got some recommendations that are 100% worth it.

    1. A spaghetti strap nightgown made of a moisture-wicking bamboo viscose material that'll feel cool against your skin... and help you not wake up in a pool of sweat night after night. And yup, you can wear it as a slip too!

A model in the black knee-length slip dress
    Amazon

Promising review: "I have night sweats that wake me up multiple times a night. I have tried all the expensive pajamas — CoolJams, Dagsamajen. No help. I bought these on a whim because they were cheap. But they really work. I was shocked. I bought two more. They also look great on me, which is nice too. Slept through the night without sweating." —Eric

Get it from Amazon for $17.99+ (available in women's sizes S–3X and nine colors, plus packs of two).

And if you're looking for other styles, this brand makes tons in the same moisture-wicking bamboo fabric — you can shop them all on their Amazon storefront! I have this tank and shorts set and it's soooo comfy and soft — and way cooler than my other summer PJs!

    2. A two-pack of handblown watering globes you can fill with H2O and stick right in the soil of your planter — it'll slowly release water as your plant needs it so you can go on vacay with peace of mind (or just worry about watering less while you're at home).

Promising review: "You can tell these are handmade because they are all sightly different in size. I think they are beautiful and compliment my plants and/or their pots well. It also made me realize how some plants really need a lot more water than others just by noticing the water levels in each." —EC

Promising review: "These are amazing! I bought them for a two-week trip and have left them in permanently because of how happy my plants looked. They do a better job of watering my plants than I do! These are a great size for larger pots or thirsty plants. I read some reviews saying they are hard to fill but I haven’t found that to be the case. Just tip it at an angle like a wine glass and use low water pressure." —Amazon Customer

Promising review: "My husband loves popcorn. However, unlike me, he HATES any unpopped kernels. So after a lot of searching, we found this and ordered it. OMG......he loves this thing. And I love that I no longer have to hear him complain about how many kernels are in the bottom of his bowl! So if you want to eat popcorn without having a bunch of kernels in the bottom, DEFINITELY order this one........" —R. Harris

    Amazon

That means you'll stop dropping your shampoo bottle on your foot. OW! Just hang this from your shower curtain rod, and voila!

Promising review: "We are apartment living, so storage is always an issue, and the bathroom is no exception. No one in the household could take a shower without crash/boom as you're knocking something down sitting on a shelf or the bathtub rim. This is a game changer. There are so many pockets with so much room in each, I actually have space left over. My husband's back scrubber, my shampoo and hair care, my daughters bubble baths, bath floofies, all fit with room to spare. And the pockets are all a nice height so I'm not crouching to find anything. The curtain is clear so I didn't have to change the 'pretty' one for decorative purposes, and it doesn't affect light that way either. No thank you. This is soft, and billowy and feels like a cushion against my skin. The lather it creates is decadent. And to say that it is biodegradable and can go in my compost after a few months? The amount of glue that comes out is like a bold gel pen. It flows quickly and smoothly, and I have not experienced a skip yet. The glue adhesion seems to hold up, and it even works great for foiling. Note: if you were going to use this for something delicate like glitter or foil, I would wait until the blue has faded to clear, and the glue is almost dry. It's harder material so idk what it's made of but the directions inside the container are on point for good mac and cheese except I drained the water. The days of scrubbing a big pot are over for me. I can't believe this actually worked. Especially bc the texture of the noodles and the taste is so on point. I got no discount and wasn't paid for this review. Promising review: "After yet another bad sunburn even though I'm trying VERY HARD to keep sunscreen on, I bought these. First use was at Disneyland on a 90-degree zero clouds day. This helped so much! I kept an eye (as did my friends) on the dot, so we all knew when to reapply sunscreen and not one of us got burned. It rubs into skin like lotion so you don’t feel greasy and can immediately put on clothes after application. A little goes a long way! It smells good without being overpowering (and I’m picky about scents!). Most importantly, it works! I’ve had everything from slight burn to looks-like-a-lobster-feels-like-fire and this sun soother has eliminated the pain/itch and drastically reduced the eventual peel. Even if it does peel later on, it’s minimal compared to what it would be and look like if I had not used this sun soother." —jlgentr3

One reviewer also had the genius idea of using the flat one under a cutting board to keep it from sliding away!

Promising review: "I bought a set of these years ago (about 10 years ago) for myself and my mother-in-law. Mine are still going strong, but she managed to wear hers out, so I ordered her another set. When my dad saw them, he wanted a pair. They both have arthritis in their hands and have tremendous difficulty opening jars and bottles. These grippers allow them to to get a strong enough grip to open all kinds of jars and bottles. The different shapes work great for different types of containers — the flats ones work well for just about anything with a lid; the cone shaped one is great for water bottles, salad dressing, etc. I would highly recommend for anyone with arthritis or a weak grip." —MGS

    27. An extra-durable duck-shaped squeaking dog toy because, unlike other toys that get shredded in days (OK, hours), this adorable bb will last months, at least according to reviewers.

buzzfeed editor's dog next to three torn-apart toys captioned
buzzfeed editor's french bulldog chewing the duck
    AnaMaria Glavan / BuzzFeed

Here's what BuzzFeed Shopping writer AnaMaria Glavan has to say: "My French Bulldog is extremely spoiled and gets new toys all the damn time — my sister will, I’m not kidding, raid the rows of TJ Maxx once a week for a new seasonally appropriate squeaker. There’s currently a mangled pastel purple bunny sitting in the garbage because, yep, he chewed right through it in a day… which brings me to my point! Chew toys can cost anywhere from $10–$14 a pop and last maybe three days with minimal play. My dog sleeps for 18 hours in a 24-hour cycle so it mystifies me that he manages to go through them so quickly. But a few months ago, I found this very plain yellow duck toy on Amazon that had over 14,000 reviews with buyers claiming it could take a lot of wear and tear. I thought, my doggo deserves the best so let’s try it out.

Folks! This duck is woven with Valyrian steel! I literally purchased this on Nov. 24, 2020 (and I’m writing this it is March 25, 2021) and it’s STILL GOING STRONG. It has not torn, ripped, there is no toy entrail fluff scattered throughout our living room.. nada. It’s still perfectly intact and Rockie generally prefers this toy over any other one in his ever-changing arsenal. It’s also perfect for his medium frame but I can see it being equally as ideal for smaller dogs because it’s lightweight, despite being on the larger side. My dog is also strange in that he prefers sleeping on this random blanket in the corner than in his bed and sometimes he’ll drag the duck with him and lay next to it and I just...my eyes fill with tears when I think about how adorable that is.

The best part is that the toy costs less than $10. Considering the quality, you’d expect it to cost *way* more considering that I haven’t had to replace it in the four months of me owning it. And again, I want to stress — my dog typically shreds through toys in less than a week, so to have one last 15x longer?! It’s pretty sweet. I also want to point out that the squeaker isn't obnoxiously loud which is pure bliss."

Get it from Amazon for $7.90 (note that you'll get a random color).

    28. A quick-drying top coat so you can finally stop saying "oh sheet!" when you see the indents pressed into your fresh manicure when you wake up in the morning. This baby'll have you polish fully set looooong before you go to bed (like, in a few minutes after applying, max!).

Promising review: "NEVER GETTING MY NAILS PROFESSIONALLY DONE AGAIN. I love having long nails. I do not like spending fifty bucks just to get them painted. I tried the gel polish, with gel top coat; I tried the gel system with the lamps; I tried every polish out there. My hands get washed hundreds of times daily. This stuff is unbelievable. It really works the way they say it does. I applied it about one to two minutes after finishing a second coat of color and within minutes it had bonded and set and my nails stay shiny and polished for over a week. That is not the full two weeks claimed, but I am unusually hard on my nails so over a week is AWESOME. I immediately ordered several more." —Amazon Customer

And you can trim them with a pair of scissors to fit whatever size oven you have.

Promising review: "I have used these liners for years. I hate cleaning my oven and this liner has saved me so much time and effort, not to mention my oven always looks like new. I should comment on the durability of these liners. It recommends that you remove the liner before initiating the self-cleaning feature on the oven. I admit that I have forgotten a couple times. Although it does the liner no good, it does stand up to the tremendous heat. I would recommend this liner for every busy person who has no time or desire to clean their oven. It's amazing." —Cartec
