"I didn't think it was funny."

Larsa Pippen was not expecting Michael Jordan's comment on her relationship with his son, Marcus.

If you didn't see, Michael was leaving a restaurant earlier this month when he was asked if he was OK with his son dating the ex-wife of his rumored rival Scottie Pippen. Michael initially laughed at the question before shouting back, "No!"

In a conversation on their Separation Anxiety podcast, Larsa said she was "embarrassed" and "traumatized" by the remark, given her earlier comment about having Michael's support.

“I didn’t think it was funny," she shared. "There is nothing funny about it. I kinda felt like it went everywhere and I was kind of embarrassed.”

"Online they were saying that I was lying — that I lied and said that our parents are fine because I was doing interviews and saying both of our families are fine," Larsa continued. "When I would say that, I felt like I didn't embellish that ... and I would say both of our parents want us to be happy."

Marcus said he honestly believed his dad was joking with the comment.

“I know my dad," he said, "and obviously my whole family, we’re so competitive, part of our DNA is to talk shit, it gets us going and gets us motivated. And when I saw it immediately I thought, ‘He’s playing.’ He’s joking, he’s laughing. He’s just being playful, he’s a little lit, maybe off the Socorro [tequila]."

Marcus also clarified that Jordan had contacted him before the interview was released to notify him of what he'd said. He also texted Marcus that he doesn't care who he dates.

Marcus said: "At the root of what we talked about was, you know, I'm an adult. I can make my own decisions. He doesn't need to approve [of] who I date or my personal relationships because he's going to love me no matter what."
