The biggest difference between the German version of Creme and La Mer is that the latter contains fermented seaweed extract that produces lactic acid, an AHA known to help keep the skin moisturized and firm. However, many reviewers point out that with the money you save by buying Creme, you can afford a pricier lactic acid product that would do the same thing *or* you could just buy sea kelp powder and add that.
