You might be aware by now that ahead of the 2025 Met Gala, artist Doechii was caught on camera yelling at her team for failing to hide her outfit from paparazzi.

Doechii made her debut at the Met in a Louis Vuitton short suit designed by Pharrell.
While leaving The Mark Hotel to get to the event, Doechii was filmed hastily hiding behind her staff members to avoid being photographed in the lobby. Her team then used a large, white wardrobe screen to wheel her out of the building without being seen — though Doechii wasn’t satisfied.

“Yes, I’m ready! Give me another — no, stop! Give me another umbrella! Now!” she could be heard yelling. As soon as a staff member placed an umbrella over the top of the square screen, Doechii shouted, “And another one! I need four fucking umbrellas!”
“Move these umbrellas. I don’t want these people fucking seeing me,” she snapped.
Doechii’s demeanor in the now-viral clip quickly sparked a huge divide. While some people empathized with the star and suggested she was under immense stress, others argued, “theres literally no reason to talk to people like this,” while accusing her of “mistreating” her staff.

Amid all the backlash, Doechii has now addressed the viral clip in a TikTok video.

“God forbid a girl needs more umbrellas,” she quipped with a laughing emoji, before writing in the caption: “All jokes aside this was such an overstimulating night but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! This was the night we all dreamed of and my team killed it (umbrellas aside).”

She later added on Instagram that she was "so so so proud" of her glam team, writing in part: "We've been dreaming about this Met for a long time and the theme this year is in such alignment with who I am what stand for."

Several fans have been left unimpressed with Doechii’s response. “it’s still wrong to treat people like that,” one person commented, while another echoed, “Nah you don't treat people like that.”
“Her not even taking any accountability is so sad. This is so disappointing,” someone tweeted, while another wrote, “she couldn’t even apologize!!!”
“a janitor deserves the same respect as the ceo. y’all can stop w the whole ‘she’s the star’ bs. she could be the star & simultaneously show her team respect,” one more tweet read.
